Linux is slowly taking over from where Microsoft can’t, at least thats the oppinion of the New York Stock Exchange who have now made the jump across to Linux based systems. I have been saying for some time that this Linux thing is worth a look, and now it would seem that it is coming true as more and more companies are making the break to Linux.
I have now been running Fedora 9 on my Sony Vaio VGN-C1Z for some time and it seems to be working very well, I have had no issues of any kind, appart from the usual where is this and how do I do that! But no spyware no Viruses and no crashes which means all in all I will not be making the change back to Microsoft ever!!! I am planning the upgrade to Fedora 9 on all of the Tkat servers, and also planning to take advantage of the distributed platform as I will be moving the server’s to three independant locations so that the Tkat network and website should stay up. I will also of course be making the change to hosting WordPress on a local sever and finally ditching Microsh@ft Exchange, which so far this year has spent more time down than up :-$.
Anyway will keep you all posted and will post the pictures once I get the server room looking ship shape again
